A Bridge Cryptic Crossword

I stopped doing cryptic crosswords several years ago — I did sudoku puzzles for a while. Recently I started doing them again and the enjoyment of the challenge came back.

So I thought I’d try creating one of my own — with bridge as the theme. If you try this one, let me know whether you enjoyed it. All constructive criticism is welcome!

You can download this as a PDF file and print it so you can use pencil and eraser on it.

Hi John:

I am a puzzle lover as witnessed by Boggle, Scrabble, Word Rush et al .. plus The New York Times Crossword Puzzles back in the old days (including Sundays). However, I have never tried Cryptics. From what I see above, you have to be pretty ‘hip’ bridgewise to attempt the subject puzzle. I shall be interested to see the answer and then perhaps I will indulge myself. Bridge, Blogging and now Cryptics! There aren’t enough hours in the day.

Cheers,

Judy

P.S. For those of you who are unaware, JRG is the primary genius of this computer site who is the literary faux pas fixer. Without him, Bobby and I could not exist or survive. Thanks, John. You are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Judy,

Thank you for the ego boost!

However, we must not forget Luise Lee who was instrumental in the original development of this site and Olena Sullivan, a graphic design artist who collaborated with Luise. Of course, were it not for Linda and Ray Lee of Masterpoint Press who pay the bills, this site would not exist.

John,

Believe me, I am not negating the talents and contributions of Luise, Ray, Linda, Olena and the many others who have shared and solved my many blogging problems over several years and provided this sensational site. However, because of the wonderful changes and updates recently, I (who am not computer savvy) find myself leaning on you solely on what seems to be an almost daily basis! And .. no matter when or what my issue may be.. you are always there for me and make the problems go away. For that I just wanted to send public plaudits for all your TLC and making everything ‘all better.’ Bobby and I are much in your debt.

Bridgeblogging.com has provided a delightful venue for thousands and thousands of bridge lovers. I speak for all when I send a big thank you to our very caring Northern Neighbors!!!!

Cheers,

Judy
